The video above is pretty self explanatory. Most of the action of Vertigo is repeated twice. The audience meets Madeleine and Judy in similar ways. They see Judy and the real Madeleine's deaths parallel each other. There are many sequences of action that Hitchcock repeats twice in Vertigo. In doing this, he is emphasising the movie's prevalent theme of the double identity Judy/ Madeleine possesses. Also, seeing certain images like the profile of Judy's face and Judy opening her hotel blinds communicates to the audience that Judy is Madeleine's ghost or Madeleine is not dead.
